How this project works
On 3 September 2021, the My Utopia exhibition goes live at the Carlton Club in Manchester. This is your chance to support this unique art project by purchasing a book, a print or becoming a patron. As we pre-sell copies of the book and the artwork, we are able to fund the exhibition and take My Utopia beyond Manchester.
For all backers who purchase a copy of the book or artwork we aim to have them sent out during September.
Emma Evans and Richard Kelly are two Manchester-based artists who have collaborated to bring this unique project together.
Richard's long, aimless wanders through Manchester during the 2020 lockdown allowed him to capture the eerie emptiness of a city hibernating.
Emma's surrealist doodles bring to life the imaginary playful characters that lurk behind rusty-shutters, desolate bustops and peek over weather-beated brick walls in a city sleeping and dreaming of coming back to life.
